The events of the 1980s should thus give us pause when evaluating the contours and even the definition of gay liberation. Comparing the fates of activist efforts in West Germany, which enjoyed a huge commercial subculture but lacked legal reforms, and in East Germany, where the opposite was true, indicates that these two horsemen of gay liberation do not always ride together.

State and city laws prohibit local police departments from turning people over to ICE. That restriction does not apply to the federally run Amtrak Police Department.

Never forget. Allende was overthrown on September 11, 1973, leading to years of horror imposed on Chile by Pinochet in the interest of Western states and corporations.

Chile became a violent neoliberal experiment led by US-educated liberal economists while living standards declined immensely.
