New paper out! Revisiting the DMN's self-related processing from an embodied view🧠💪 Huge thanks to
@choongwanwoo.bsky.social and @jeongin-lee00.bsky.social for enriching my internal model with great insights and fun discussions along the way!

who are the Korean computational/theoretical neuroscience folks? at all levels (faculty, trainees, etc)

even if they are not on bsky - can we name them so we can make a list?

🧩 We identified important regions and functional networks, including DMN, VAT, and FPN, that contribute to the predictions.

💭 We also tested our models on three datasets (free-thinking or restings-state, total n = 199), achieving significant predictions of self-relevance and valence! (3/4)

📚 Personal stories collected through 1:1 online interviews were used to induce narrative-like spontaneous thoughts in the fMRI. With fMRI data 🧠 (n = 49), we developed multivariate pattern-based predictive models of self-relevance and valence – two key dimensions of spontaneous thought. (2/4)

📢 Exciting news! My first first-author paper on brain decoding of spontaneous thought is now available on PNAS. Check it out! www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/...

✅ Summary: We developed fMRI-based predictive models of spontaneous thought using personal stories as stimuli. (1/4)
