Well the team behind Express.js stopped supporting it, they even created another Node.js called Koa.
The community is still good though because many people know Express as it was a standard, but it’s not the case anymore
Companies tend to use Nest.js for its TypeScript support, tools and architectur

That's cool that you're making the transition to JS. For the backend part, maybe you should head toward another technology because Express.js isn't supported anymore. You can look Fastify, NestJS or AdonisJS that are great and more modern alternatives :)
