I worked for 6 months on this upgrade to our fireplace. Juniper with black cherry fish one inset and mahogany accent blocks in the middle.

I loved this project but will probably never attempt a fish one pattern again.

I got to work about 5 hours ago

and I’m frustrated with my coworkers and just want to lay in my warm bed and cuddle my dogs and binge a whole season of a show in 2 days.

My husband and I have a “quizlist” of songs that when we’re in the car, the driver has to figure out the name of the song and the artist.

I said “This is ‘butterfly with bullet wings’ by Cage the Elephant.”

Obviously not correct, but a hilarious mistake.

This was the last day of the Arboretum lights, and this feature was pretty cool. This is my adorable husband striking a pose for me. I really loved these colors, so I tried to experiment with just his shadow and not getting him in the photo, too.

This is Peanut Butter. I loved this photo, then got it on my computer and realized it was blurry. I think I better ISO settings.

I kind of didn't know what to do late at night when I remembered I didn't take a photo. So I went outside and took this.

Not proud of this, but oh well. This is how I learn.

January 1st, 2025

I've been taking photos every day, but I haven't been able to add them to my computer and edit them until yesterday. And I learned my lesson that I need to edit sooner. Because they suck. But I’m doing this to get better at it. Eventually.

I’m going to start my 1 photo a day here, too (as well as Instagram).

Basically, I love photography, but I suck at it. I’m going to take/edit/post one photo a day every day (hopefully) in 2025 so I can get better at my hobby and see my progression.
