following it is a really interesting metal ep with polyrhythmic chugs, basically a nightmare to count and play, so it's really funny for them to go with normal 4/4 time signature only at the final track. also look at that cover art!! holy fuck I love me some edgy art

starting the month/morning off with a maximalist new release - it's like Sarah KKB making a shoegaze album essentially, wherein the lush and heavy instrumentation contrasted by the slight twee in the vocals makes for a very fun combination. love the haze, might be a more dreamy listen at night idk

one of the most well-crafted collection of drumfloor dnb bangers, hard-hitting and transcendent in tandem

wanted something abit more technical/complex and ended up relistening to this gem. lovely album for an early morning commute in the city - personally utilized it as a soundtrack for a cutesy scifi experience and it worked wonders.

someone mentioned it as a "tour diary" and it's a perfect description - a heartfelt collection of tracks interspersed with various tidbits and snippets creating an interesting narrative. feels like a keepsake record with shifting points of view, very unique and creative overall.

first listen. was expecting something abit more twee with the cover and what we got feels quite in lane with their typical discog. not really the kind of sound I normally dig so the album length is kinda wearing me down, but there are some cool moments sprinkled within.

recently obsessed with Céline Dion's English debut album - just a very strong collection of eighties pop, and probably one of her most coherent works in her discography

Salamander (2018) by Childish Japes & Dave Vives
an interesting prog rock project showcasing different worlds in each track, so it really feels like a wild ride. everything is quite stellar, from the math-influenced compositions to the clean production. for fans of Thank You Scientist definitely

sophisti-pop albums are consistently great listens, and this project is no exception. crispy production paired with dynamic compositions, with additional flairs of jazz into the music arrangement. intimate at times and quite groovy all around, boot this up to have a good time

under the cartoon villain trenchcoat is the everlasting darkness. love how the instrumentals are emphasized, especially with the textures being so prevalent and forefront. the way the drum machine often gets swallowed by the deep waves of mechanical distortions is also really cool and interesting

remembering from a comic: women's feelings for their previous partners will never be covered up, but kept carefully aside as their precious memories. it's clear from the get-go about the imminent progression between the protagonists, and yet it's still so heartbreaking to see the events unfold

her concert DVDs are regular viewings for our family, and out of the studio LPs I've gone through, this one encapsulates her energy the best. the mix of 2000s western pop with theatrical ballads fits her music style nicely, and the arrangements really bring out her singing prowess to the front

starting the year off strong with some amazing vocaloid tunes. always love asanuko's works with their tuning and arrangements & this electropop-centric collection is excellent all around. personal favorite is the DnB-inspired title track for the Kagamine twins (defo not biased)
