Deputy Attorney General todd blanche sent a letter to the governor and AG of California, as well as Pelosi and Jenkins, reiterating the supremacy of federal law and making a direct threat: "The Department of Justice will investigate and prosecute any state or local official who violates these federal statues."

Bondi does not seem to fear facing any consequences, ever, for her conduct as part of this administration. Given trump's conduct at the end of his last term in office and the "Trump 2028" hat we saw pictured on his Oval Office desk last week, that's concerning.

There are some people who say a shutdown is really bad for people. And it is. People will get hurt in a shutdown. But they'll get hurt more if our democracy never recovers from this. They'll get hurt more if the oligarchs take total control of our government and are able to steal without any check, with total impunity, from the people. So yeah, I think people need to understand that this is a fight worth having, and it's still a fight we can still win.

And there was another Trump aspect he (Epstein) seemed to be rushing back to the US for - if only to gossip about. The journalist E Jean Carroll had in the past weeks described in a new book and in an article in New York magazine how in the mid '90s Trump had raped her in addressing room in the department Store bergdorf Goodman. Epstein told one of his callers that he had seen Trump shortly after this happened and Trump had regailed him with the Torah details. Trump's move now, Epstein theorized, would be to deflect from this story by reviving the rape charges against Bill Clinton. He was eager to discuss this with Bannon.

8 million student debtors will see their monthly payments spike from $0 to over $400. Dentists and doctors who choose to work in low-paying community health care centers will no longer be eligible for Public Service Loan Forgiveness programs, dramatically reducing the number of health care providers in communities that are already underserved. The bill even comes after the long-standing, republican approved federal student loan repayment plans, which allow borrowers to discharge their debts after a certain number of years of regular payments.
