Gorgeous elder berries ripe for the picking. There weren’t many left on this tree, so I’m leaving them for the animals and for the plant herself.

One of the best parts of studying herbal medicine is learning to notice and get curious about the plants all around us.

Camping in Bantam, CT. While looking for an elder tree I saw earlier, I came across this tiny shrine in front of a campsite. What question it’s asking - or answering - I can’t say.
