So, despite how weird this movie's presentation is. The message, acting, cinematography, soundtrack, pacing, and unique presentation all launch this movie to incredible heights. If you're a fan of experimental films like I am, I am begging you to give World's Fair a try.

Another fantastic thing about World's Fair is its soundtrack, which is just so damn nice and atmospheric. I am actually listening to this movie's soundtrack as I write this review. Schoenbrun seems to be a filmmaker that strives at telling stories about identity, I really hope they make more.

Not to mention that this is a movie clearly made with a really low budget that uses its limitations to push it higher. Because of the cheaper looking camera quality, you really get the feeling that you're watching some videos from an internet rabbit hole filmed by a random teen.

However, despite all of this, this movie holds so much meaning for so many people. It's an internet horror movie that does a perfect job at displaying the struggle of someone trying to fit into a massive online community. JLB hijacking Casey's hobbies to promote his own presence feels so real.

This is a movie that's fairly easy to call pretentious, because of all the symbolism and hidden meaning found within it, not to mention the complex nature of this movie's storytelling. Sometimes it's shot as a normal movie, sometimes it's a screencap film, sometimes it's neither, it can get weird.

The best way to describe it is that it's about a girl named Casey who tries out this internet challenge called the world's fair challenge. She starts interacting with the community surrounding this creepypasta while also uploading videos displaying the effect it's had on her.

It's hard to talk about a movie like this because there's just so much about it that I like and yet it's so difficult to recap. It's experimental and its method of disseminating its story is incredibly confusing at points.

Similarly to Jane Schoenbrun's recent film, I Saw the TV Glow, We're All Going to the World's fair (henceforth called World's Fair) is a movie that not everyone is going to like. Whether or not this movie can even be considered horror is debatable, but I'll count it just so I can talk about it.

Avoid this movie at all costs, don't let it waste your time like it did mine.

The kills in this movie are also underwhelming and have flat out terrible effects, a death knell for any slasher film. This was a cheap attempt at abusing steamboat willie's entrance into the public domain and it is easily one of the worst horror movies I have ever seen in my life.

The film has this framing device where one of the survivors is telling the police about her experience, but not only do they accomplish absolutely nothing, but they also spoil upcoming plot points the scene right before they happen.

I've seen cheap looking horror movies before, but It's been a while since I've seen one this unfinished. You can even see the actor that plays steamboat willie's beard sticking out of the mask, it looks like his character is puking hair. The lighting? cheap. The sets? boring and real repetitive.

Speaking of the writing, the movie's characters range from flat and boring to really unlikable, I could not remember any of their names if my life depended on it. Besides that, this movie lacks the stakes and fast pacing required from a good slasher. Barely anything happens in it, it's mostly filler

This is a movie that feels like it hates the fact that is a horror movie, every attempt at parody humor it attempts to make not only falls flat but becomes eye rolling with how constantly cynical this writing is.

Do not watch this movie, full stop. The Mousetrap is a movie that tries to be one of those films people watch since they're so bad its good, but it fails miserably at every single aspect. It's difficult for me to even provide a basic plot synopsis because it feels like nothing happened.

Overall a mixed bag of a movie, it's not bad and I can see why some people like it, but I don't see myself watching this one again, especially with the amount of better post-apocalyptic horror out there like A Quiet Place.

Not to mention that the movie from this point on is very derivative, featuring romance with absolutely no chemistry and conflict that feels like it lacks any punch. And once the creatures are actually revealed, I won't mince words, they look absolutely ridiculous.

My main problems in the movie come in the 2/3 after the beginning. They're not terrible or anything but they were quite boring for me. One of the movie's best characters is rendered unconscious for the majority of the runtime and then there's a character death near the end that lacked impact at all.

There were plenty of points in that first third that had me on the edge of my seat, I think this movie's beginning is fantastic at tension building and the sound design is simply unmatched, not to mention how long the movie goes without explicitly showing us these creatures.

As I mentioned, there are some things I think this movie does phenomenally, and I would say about 1/3 of this movie is just completely phenomenal. The atmosphere of this post-apocalyptic earth is spot on, and I think most of the sound design is fantastic, plus I like the family's relationship

Arcadian is a movie that I still feel very mixed on, as it does some things phenomenally and some things really really badly. It's a post-apocalyptic movie featuring a dad and his 2 sons trying to survive in a world ravaged by photophobic creatures.

Overall, Suspiria is a classic horror movie that every horror fan should watch at least once. It's a staple of the genre and a unique experience the first time around, while also rewarding repeat viewings.
