As if this holiday wasn't going to be hard enough to endure, I just brought in the mail to find a returned card I sent to a pen pal friend of mine for the past 30 yrs (yes, old-fashioned written letters) to see the world "deceased" on it. I had no way of knowing. He didn't use internet. 😢

Well, another season of #LearnedLeague is in the books. Considering the sad circumstances of this past month, I somehow managed to place 6th in my Rundle. Teetered on that promotion border for a lot of the season, too, but it wasn't meant to be. 🦙

I feel like I experienced the worst morning of my 47 years of life. Sammy came to live with us not long after moving into this house & I have never felt such emptiness as getting up today without him there. No Sammy sleeping in a patch of sunlight on the floor. No Sammy on his chair. It's all gone.

Photo taken of Sammy before vet appointment yesterday. Look at that face! It breaks my heart that at this time we were thinking he just maybe had a tooth or gum infection or at worst an abscessed tooth only to find out he has a mass in his abdomen. My whole world is at a standstill. 😿

Haven't been posting much. My Sammy (🐈) hasn't been well so my mind has only been on him.
I wanted to post my final #LearnedLeague standings. I happily managed to not be relegated (had some lucky defense and had an opponent forfeit near the end). Ended up in an okay 14th place, going 10-10-5.

Started the new week with, yep, another tie. This, against an opponent whom I tied with in LL105. Scored 5(3)-5(4), which puts me currently 5-5-5 and in 15th. And the roller coaster continues... 🎢🥴 #LearnedLeague

😔 Another tie. I'm digging that hole deeper and deeper. Decent defense may have helped me in Rundle C, but here in Rundle B, it's just not cutting it. I just..don't...know...things. Feeling so stressed and ill lately, too, I can't seem to focus. Still, I must keep trying. #LearnedLeague
