Omitting play counts and related information from public view is intentional, and creators can even disable viewing their own play counts.

For the front page, a chronological feed of all posts feels less generally useful than a lightly popularity-sorted one.

There are still a few people stuck on iOS 13 and lower (last update for 2014 iPhone 6) but it's <0.1%

I have proactive monitoring for playback issues to fix things when they brea, and have addressed the few issues reported to me directly (better screen reader support, compatibility issue with an extensions).

The only current audio playback errors I see are from web scrapers like Google.

It should work on browsers made within the last 5 years, which you should be using for security reasons anyways. This roughly translates to mobile devices made within the last 10 years and computers made within the last 20 years.

Spotify has DRM, though. It uses audio encryption and anti-debugging techniques to prevent users from accessing the keys necessary to rip audio.

Defenses are chosen based on the attacker model.

Password-protected pages are a useful improvement over unlisted pages with guessable URLs to maintain privacy and allow easily rotating protections (e.g. against Patreon scrapers), but don't provide much benefit for Reddit posts.

It's certainly not like photos which often have GPS coordinates, but Adobe products embed XMP metadata that can include the author or artist name, and it's easy to imagine someone accidentally configuring that to be their real name.

Just like on Bluesky, a purely chronological feed of all posts is not expected to be very useful for most people. Proper following and "for you" recommendation feeds on the front page are planned!

I don't know your antiscrape methodology, but you should ensure you strip metadata tags from uploaded audios to avoid unintentional information leaks.

Yes, but it's only visible to the creator, since I think comparing numbers is on balance more discouraging than encouraging to creators, and popularity contests can drive people to maximize appeal rather than making things they really like.

I am always interested in feedback, but I need more details than "don't like"!

Improvements are always possible and hearing from others lets me prioritize which ones to pursue first.

After importing your audios, migrating should be as simple as replacing "soundgasm.net" with "hotaudio.net" in any existing links.

hotaudio.net/import
hotaudio.net

Both Hot Audio and Scriptbin self-identify as adult sites using the RTA Label, making them trivial for content filters to block.

Playlists are in the backlog.

Are you imagining a feature like Youtube's "Watch Later" where you can add a bunch of audios and have them automatically play one after the other?
