Book 138: ‘Heidegger and the Destruction of Aristotle: On How to Read the Tradition’ by Sean D. Kirkland

H/t to @hotelbarpodcast.bsky.social for having Sean on as a guest a while back — led to me putting several of his books on my reading list.

Thank you all so much for your understanding and patience as we navigate this transition.

Hotel Bar Sessions isn't going away. You'll still get regular episodes through Oct 10. After that, just a temporary bar closing while we clean up some messes.

We remain committed to keeping the podcast alive and the Hotel Bar open. Full stop.

Unfortunately, though, HBS will need to take a brief pause after our 200th episode (on October 10th) to re-group, re-staff, and re-organize... but we’re excited abt bringing in new, fresh, exciting voices!

We want to acknowledge the passion and work that everyone involved in the podcast has contributed. It’s been a collective effort— 5 years, 14 seasons, and 8 co-hosts—to get this podcast to where it is now. Our listenership has grown >5K% percent since we began in 2021 and continues to grow...

We’re also, sadly, bidding an immediate farewell to Talia Bettcher, who joined us for Season 14. We appreciate Talia’s valuable contributions to the podcast and the unique perspectives she brought to the bar conversations. 😔

We know his voice is irreplaceable. We’ll miss him much as you.😥💔😢

After more than 13 incredible seasons, co-host Rick Lee @rickleephilos.bsky.social has decided to take a step back from the podcast. We’re grateful for his longstanding dedication to HBS, and the humor, insight, and critical perspective he contributed to 184 conversations over the past 4.5 years.

Once again, alas, HBS is looking for new, smart, engaging "talent" to fill our recently (and abruptly) vacated co-host seats.

Think you have what it takes to carry an interesting conversation? Know someone you'd recommend to fill the open barstools?

Just email us at [email protected]!
