The Reign recently announced the end-of-season roster decisions for 2025, following two new signees for 2026. The skeleton of the Reign squad still looks recognizable, with the exception of the retiring Lu Barnes.

The Reign have announced the first team signing of academy product goalkeeper Neeku Purcell on a one-year contract. Purcell was able to experience life as a first team player a little bit during the 2025 season after serving as a short-term replacement player.

The Reign have been eliminated in the NWSL playoffs after losing to Orlando Pride in the quarterfinals.

Brutal result, but this team has gone a long way since last year… onward to 2026.

The Reign couldn’t find the answer to save the 2025 season at Orlando and exit the playoffs in the first round. It was a close battle up until the end, including a crossbar hit by the Reign.

PLAYOFF MATCHDAY! The Reign return to the #NWSL postseason after a one season absence, and Seattle rematches Orlando Pride after tying with them on Decision Day.

The winner of this quarterfinal will either travel to Kansas City Current or host NY/NJ Gotham.

Laura Harvey said in the post-match press conference that the Reign will not travel back to Seattle until after next week’s playoff game. The team travelled to play Orlando for Decision Day, and seeding circumstances setup a rematch at Inter&Co Stadium.
