What better way to spend Halloween than at the Dickens Museum experiencing a pair of the author’s own creepy tales superbly told by @jamescswanton.bsky.social His physicality and use of lighting added extra dimensions to the text. Thoroughly recommended.

On a cramped coach heading to Somerset for the weekend listening to David Boulter’s Whitby LP while reading @paulmagrs.bsky.social Dracula! It’s making me want to change course and head to the north east coast for a fish supper. Paul captures the personalities of the original TARDIS crew perfectly.

I’ve had the best time @kirkdalebooks.bsky.social with @robinince.bsky.social talking about his brilliant book Normally Weird and Weirdly Normal. It was an inspiring evening, fizzing with ideas. I didn’t want it to end!

Thank you for your kindness and generosity of spirit.

#TreadingWater out today!

I saw a preview with cast & Director Gino Evans at the BFI a few weeks back. Incredibly powerful & moving. Not an easy watch, but helps increase understanding of what it’s like to live with severe anxiety, OCD & intrusive thoughts. Recommended.

Walking along the East Mendip Way from Shepton Mallet to Wells today. The Rain held off in the end. Just what I needed to relieve the stress.

Book haul on a recent trip to Germany. I was impressed by the well stocked bookshops at railway stations and a converted cinema. I couldn’t resist picking up a few discounted English language books.
