Why the US stock market tanked this morning

Last week, a Chinese artificial intelligence start-up called DeepSeek revealed that it had come up with more advanced AI than America’s Big Tech companies, & at a tiny fraction of the cost even without access to America’s advanced chip technology

#auspol
America is going to have to rethink our entire approach to technology.

We may also have to rethink our approach to capitalism.

Some thoughts on the DeepSeek debacle. robertreich.substack.com/p/american-c...

Raise the PRRT Jim.

Our Natural resources are finite, they belong to all Australians, not OS multinationals.

What you and all past governments are allowing is national theft.

Tax our Gas at 78% of revenue like Norway. 🇳🇴

We need a Murdoch Media RC.

We need or look that the media ownership concentration in Australia & truth in reporting.

Whilst the traditional media is declining, I still wouldn’t mind a business that can BS for a living and pay no tax on $1.2 Billion in revenue per annum.

It’s official: RUPERT MURDOCH IS A DISGRACE TO JOURNALISM. (See UK apology, admissions, damages settlement to Prince Harry and Tom Watson).

A year ago the ALP Govt launched a review following questions about the Department of Home Affairs' (Peter Dutton was Minister), on its conduct under the Coalition.

It found the Department awarded contracts to companies & suspected links to arms and drug smuggling, corruption & bribery.

Racist attacks on any community must be opposed. Muslims Australians one day, Jewish Australians the next. When I was as young ppl graffitied “Asians Out” on ppls driveways. Racism must be opposed by all of us who want a world where ppl are not terrorised for who they are

Can someone explain why TikTok is a bigger national security concern than a social media platform run by a South African technofeudal oligarch actively interfering in our elections and sabotaging our national interests here and abroad?

The craziest part is that it WOULD be so easy to be jealous of Elon. But I'm not sure I can point to a person in the public sphere who seems to be more insecure, needy, and pathetic than he is. There is no better posterchild for "money can't buy you happiness" than Elon Musk.
Greene: Let’s be really clear… You’re attacking Elon Musk because you’re really jealous

"There's only a few wells that have been fracked in the Beetaloo so far and they're already having these kind of contaminations.

They're proposing tens of thousands of wells, so this is a very, very bad sign."

After 18 months of operation and a cost of $140 million to Australians, the staggeringly incompetent NACC has concluded its top 3 major corruption investigations, and guess what?

It has found no corruption.

The #NACC is a failure and a national embarrassment.

Dutton is making a big target of public service jobs but look what happened last time - they spent $20 billion on outsourcing to the private sector to do the same work at twice the cost!

Dutton will bring the big consultant’s snouts back to the trough.
