The Danes sale of US bonds wont matter much, how ever if the Danes is the crack in the dam, that eventually will make it burst.

I thought that the argument for the 2nd amendment and why Americans tolerate school shooting where solely for being able to defend your self against an oppressing federal state?

God damn Im happy to live in Denmark where there is no guns and the only ICE is on Greenland. #savethepenguin

No surprise. The English right wing has always been authoritarian and anti-democratic.

Trump is considering asking Hegseth to kidnap the leader of Covid to stop the invasion. The plan is to finance the operation (without anesthesia) with measles oil.

All political parties in Greenland support independence from Denmark so they are not very thankful. The choice is 100% theirs to be taken, but at this moment it seems more like Denmark is the lesser evil.

It is primarily Western Europe and the Americans themselves who are experiencing something new. I think this is what happens when you close your eyes to your own country's crimes for too long.

For a lot of nations around the world the difference is not the great compared to the past just ask Cuba, Vietnam, Grenada, Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, Iran and more. You can then ad interventions and support to coups in SA: Peru, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador and more...

I wonder if María Corina Machado still believes that Trump should have had here Nobel Prize?

I traveled around the US leading up to Trump in 2016 and I understand where a lot of the anger comes from. The same goes for the fx UK and France (not 100% the same stories, but there are similarities). The big problem is that the solution to the anger and frustrations is the wrong one.

I am Danish, but have a strong interest in European and Anglo-American politics :-)

My grandfather lived in Canada during the Great Depression, which scarred him for life, and it is a big part of my late father's family history.

According to OECD the % of population with an ISCED 7 degree is 12% in Canada and between 14 and 18% across the Nordic countries. So I guess Canada like the US has a lot of people who attend University but only get a Bachelors degree? (which is next to worthless in the you aply for a job in DK)
December 31, 2025 at 3:04 PM
Keith, living in a country where our "ally" is trying to annex part of the country then it take a lot more to upset me then discussing differences lvl of education in Canada and the Nordic countries. My point was only meant the US. I have to little knowledge of of the Canadian education system.
December 31, 2025 at 3:00 PM
Canadians and Americans are at the same level. All the Nordic countries + Germany are ahead of the USA.
December 31, 2025 at 11:51 AM
Most Americans who go to university get at most a bachelor's degree. In Denmark, students go all the way and get a master's degree. A bachelor's is half an education. The number of Danes with a master's degree is significantly higher than Americans.
December 31, 2025 at 11:49 AM
That list is BS. The US should not be on that list in front of multiple eurpean nations with free education. Shit loads of Americans have no education.

Any nation basing its elections on a machine is asking for fraud.

Pen, paper and a ballot box. It works.

Its not pessimistic. Its realistic. I have my hope in the European Union and its hang arounds. Despite cultural and political differences early learnings from the Trump comeback is that Europe stands united. We know that we cant stand alone, so we stand together in our own unorganized European way
December 28, 2025 at 11:41 PM
Its too late. No one can trust a country who not once but twice elected an unreliable president on a mission to burn down the known world order. If you can do it twice, you can do it again. Any sane country will plan for a future where the US is not an ally. The US is 100% untrustworthy as an ally

The way you did it in the UK was brutal, stupid and was not about using privatization to create more growth for the benefit of the population, but was instead an ideological crusade for the benefit of the few.
December 27, 2025 at 6:10 PM
Privatization is not by definition only bad. It all depends on what is being privatized, how it is done, and the strength of laws, regulations, and unions. The Nordic countries have privatized most things without seeing a decline in wages, working conditions, and living standards.

No one should be allowed to pardon anyone in a democracy. Only judges should be able to change a verdict after as due process based on new evidence.
December 27, 2025 at 4:38 PM
Biden had 4 years to hold Trump accountable. He did absolutely nothing. Either he was a lame duck or (more likely) deliberately dragged it out in hope of exploiting it in the elections. If the latter the lesson learned is: Dont do spin, do what is right - always.
