Can’t help listening. It’s so nice. Then I notice that the companion of ukulele man is familiar. I risk asking!! It is my childhood piano teacher who is now in her 80s! Quick embraces as tube has reached her stop + smiles and shared blown kisses as the tube pulls out of the station.

She and her partner are on their way to Hatton gardens to buy an engagement ring 💍 . They are originally from Bhopal, India and the fiancée gets up to join in the conversation. Companion of ukulele man joins in too. Lovely reminiscence of trips to India and nearby.

So much this. People keep approaching me to discuss using AI to solve problems, and I have to remind them that less computationally-intensive (and often more robust) solutions exist.

I do wonder whether the existing resource limitations ($$$, time, staff, cogitive and emotional reserve) mean that people are generally more susceptible to the attractiveness of a 'magic wand' solution, as AI is often portrayed.

I agree. It has taken huge amounts of diplomacy and understanding of current practice (and my own knowledge of using the current system) to move things forwards. I am only able to pursue this as I have a funded clinical academic post.

There are also some excellent non-AI solutions which take expertise to design but are much more stable and fit for purpose that AI solutions - just takes a lot of diplomacy (and stretched resources) to be able to design and implement within NHS systems.
