Oh how interesting! What were some of those strategies if you don't mind me asking?

That is a dangerous business proposal, for me as a consumer, lol but as a marketing idea, it does sound very lucrative. SO many times my friends or family spots something there they want.

Budweiser, more of the early 2000s and the 90s. They had ads all the time; daytime television and during SuperBowl ads when they knew we'd be watching. Then they used funny stuff, like the famous Bud-Weis-Er frogs, or the Clydesdales for heartfelt emotion.

Coca-cola comes to mind, as do other things like perfume commercials. They aren't necessities but they use the consumers' emotions by invoking strong feelings associated with some common activity, like dinner time with family to make you think about buying it next time you're planning for it.

Haha, that's a great quote. Henry Ford makes a good point though. If we don't keep the product in front of the consumer, how will they know to buy it? 😁

Oh my yes. The millennial group has been interesting and much more on the forefront as the technology era took off in the midst of it. I wonder how much of this has impacted how they are viewed...

I feel like Antique Roadshow taught me this as a kid. I didn't realize how strong it would one day feel myself trying to buy stuff from way back when I was young.

It makes one wonder how they'd fair in today's culture. Would they still be considered too gruesome? Or could our new targeting with technology to market to a better audience help? It's just a wonder I have.

I totally agree here. It's like I'm Neo in the Matrix movie when he first starts seeing everything in the green text lines of coding.

I concur. That was a great illustration, and the timing, being around the season, was perfect. I think I might survey myself as I eat my way through this candy—I mean data.😜

I read that and wondered the same thing. Semi-disposable? Sounds more semi-indestructible.

The Advil vs. Tylenol is a good comparison. I liked their example about the Air France and Flexjet. Luxury flight looks different to different segments.
