Excellent...
I saw this in the feed and thought, "Oh, is that book I hated actually good?" I've always described it as a 300 page thriller crammed into 600 pages.

Heh pretty much. It just occurred to me that Short Circuit owes something to Frankenstein given the lightning connection. (Though that's only a movie connection since there is no lightning in the book)

I did not know better. It was an absolute highlight of the movie for me. But I was twelve.
