E-bikes are an amazing transportation tool. Especially in urban places. We should make them more accessible along with building safe bike infrastructure. Go after the illegal bikes/electric motorcycles and don't forget about those cars that actually kill almost 40,000 Americans a year.

what a wasted opportunity, invest in bringing back the ebike rebates. They are affordable, efficient, make more sense for half of all our trips that are under 3 miles and don't cost 12-15k annually to households. Oh, and they are not involved in collisions that kill 40,000+ Americans every year.

and they were full, took 5-10 minutes for the platform to clear when 2 trains arrived simultaneously. Most friction on the entire trip was escalator capacity at the point of arrival ;-)

I took it from Shanghai to Beijing, 1200 km, 4.5 hours, 46 daily trains on just that stretch. Smooth and fast. Airports and HS rail terminals in side by side terminals for convenient transfers.
