Geek, nerd, crafty person. Lives in Virginia, USA.

Jewish lives matter, but what the nation of Israel is doing is genocide and the USA needs to stop supporting them.
Trans rights are human rights.
If you disagree with any of these, don't follow or @ me.
Maybe I'd consider it more seriously if there was a longer gap between the theater and streaming releases, but THAT hasn't been an issue for a long time now.

Once I add up gas and ticket costs, and probably a meal since I'll be out 5+ hours by the time I'm done... yeah, turns out you're right, Ted. I'm not doing that. Especially when I can just wait a few weeks and see it at home instead.

"Theaters are for city folk"... I live in a suburban area with nearly a million people, an AMC, a Regal, and an indie place that mostly runs classics.

I guess that isn't "city" enough, though. The nearest theater to me that ran "Wake Up Dead Man" (the latest Benoit Blanc title) was 40 miles away.

If you have a library card, they often have lots of seasons of popular shows on DVD. Might be worth a look if you're wanting a legal way to watch without buying them all yourself.

So you're saying Trump is a modern-day Ea-nasir?

Yeah, that tracks.

The company won't be able to get ALL of them back. At least a few will retire if they were close to it anyway, losing the entire industry untold amounts of institutional knowledge.

Can't pass that experience along for future generations to build on, if they aren't hired till after you're gone.

I'd tell him bottom rack always. And to be sure to hit any buttons like "heavy duty wash," "high temp," and "double rinse cycle" if it has them. It'll be like you have a whole new pan. 😏

I haven't worked retail in almost ten years, and still occasionally have nightmares where I suddenly blank on how to use the register system I'm very familiar with. While I'm trying to help a customer, there's a line forming behind them, and usually my boss is watching. 🫠

So. Much. This.

I discovered tons of my favorite authors through libraries. Especially as a kid/teen, when I was zooming through 2-3 novels per week and my parents would never be able to afford buying that many.

Agreed! IMO we should also gripe on capitalism for yoinking poor person meals & ingredients, and popularizing them to increase the "value" (aka price aka profit margin) out of reach of poor people.
Lobster, oysters, oxtail, whole grain bread, avocados, any trending "superfruits/superfoods"...

It's a verbal blitzkrieg, one people on the sidelines can't even comprehend the scope of because so much of it sneaks in under the radar and the loud bits don't seem related.

And because there's SO MUCH, it's hard to explain in a way they'd understand without sounding like a conspiracy theorist.

I couldn't not read this in the voice/tune from the movie. Good one. 😆

Unless it got cut off by the screenshot, they made no promises about tomorrow or any time after.
This guarantee (as we see it in the pic) is totally meaningless because changes at the scale these companies do take more than a day to implement anyway.

I haven't had occasion to use this method yet, but I suspect it would also work for AI "artists" at art shows and conventions.
If you've truly gotten good enough at art to sell it even as a hobby, you probably have reasons for your work deeper than "I thought it would look nice that way."
