To bring in the New Year, I'm recommending a time travelling point and click puzzle game. Time Hollow on Nintendo DS does a great job making you feel like you're the main protag, trying to find your missing parents. Making the magic/science pen controlled by the DS stylus is genius

For good feels this holiday season, you can't go wrong with Animal Crossing on GameCube. The 1st title in the AC series from 2002 has a strong cast of characters. They all had individual personalities instead of all being a personality 'type'. They could be a lot meaner though.

Going all the way back to the N64, 🪕Banjo-Kazooie has a hilarious cast of characters and amazing dark humor. Platforming and puzzles galore! Somehow still kid friendly with raunchier jokes subtle enough they'll never know. If you didn't know, Kazooie is a lady~💃

Farming sims are popular these days. No surprise when talking about past farming sims that today's game is a Harvest Moon title. Magical Melody on the GameCube (and Wii) allowed the choice of picking your gender long before it was trendy, had property purchases, and was SO cute!

Too many RPGs start with the old amnesia trope, but Tales of Phantasia starts out with ✨ trauma✨ for the main protagonist and his best friend. 1st available in English in 2006 on the Game Boy Advance, it has a strong story and characters. Chester is my favorite ❤️
