We would love to receive feedback on what we can improve on, and what we can change to better help spotters send accurate reports! (3/3)

Hey all! I've been Co-Developing this project with @twisterkid34.bsky.social for about a month now, and we've made some changes to how the interface works, and also included a 'How to Report' section. (1/3)

Finally logged back into BlueSky after breaking my phone in May 😅

Hope everyone has been doing well lately.

Meteor Shower Eta Aquarids will peak Monday morning and Tuesday morning, giving increased viewing opportunities to see upwards of ~50 meteors per hour.

- Peak time will be 3:45am through Twilight.

- You'll want to look East-Southeast.

- Ensure you're in an area with little to no light pollution.

Some highlights of yesterdays chase in Illinois!

Mini-Supercell structure was amazing, with beautiful striations and crisp cloud features!

We also spotted a tornado north of Vernon, Illinois -- The tornado was rated EF-2 with wind speeds up-to 114mph.

Hypothetical chase target: anywhere in Illinois because MCV + Warm Front = great things (hopefully...)

Chipotle drop-off = successful

Thank you, NWS Memphis, for everything and for allowing us to come in, eat, and chat for a couple of hours.

Thank you to everyone who donated to help pay for Chipotle. You all are amazing!

Those who support this also support innocent lives being at risk due to lack of severe weather warnings and research to better understand our atmosphere.

All because you wanted to save a buck. 🤡

If you're in the "weather community" and you voted for this administration, you should be ashamed of yourself.

to all of my friends who work for NOAA / NWS, we stand with you and we're wishing the best for you. Thank you all for everything you've done and *hopefully* will continue to do.

I'll always be amazed that this crazy planet we call Earth can create such complex and beautiful storms like this. 💚☁️

One of my favorite chase days from 2024 was the June 13th cell near Lancaster, Missouri, which produced nearly 5" hailstones. #mowx

This storm went from initial radar blip to producing very large hail within less than 60 minutes.

Weather friends, I know a lot of you chased the May 25, 2023 (nearly) stationary and photogenic supercell near Grady, New Mexico. I want to see your photos!!!
hunterhurleywx.bsky.social
Weather friends, what's your favorite example of explosive storm initiation to supercell characteristics in a short period of time?

Mine is May 25, 2024 where a storm initiated in southern Kansas and went tornado warned within <60 minutes.

Everything reminds me of May :(

The other times I've been fortunate enough to see the Northern Lights with my eyes, I was either in South Dakota or in central Iowa!

Out of all the times I've been fortunate to photograph the Northern Lights from northwest Missouri, the most memorable session goes to the night of October 06, 2024. This was the first time I saw the Northern Lights with my eyes from Missouri!

Is there such thing as "Too much lead time" for a tornado warning? What do you think? Let me hear your thoughts.

2024... the year I became obsessed with lightning photography ⚡️

Show me your favorite lightning photos that you took!

Thank you, Cameron, for giving me an excuse to go back to slightly re-edit a photo I took on May 18, 2023.

Subtle things like redoing lighting and removing powerlines can make a difference in a photo!
