Every potential archives student I talk with starts with “I am not trying to discourage you, I want you to know the reality” and then I tell them to look at as many job postings in places they are willing to move to they can find. Salary/length of term, are there any?
everytime i talk to someone who's about to start library school i want to be like, hon you seem like a great person; you deserve a chance to follow your dreams; but this is a dying field
