The only time I've ever worried about people in the scene are the people that cause harm to it. The ones always causing trouble at shows, or being a racist prick, or the ones that take it upon themselves to destroy a local venue. (8) #posers

And if they don't stay after that? That's fine, they tried something new and they weren't as into it as they thought they were going to be. It happens, but it still helps the scene if you're not an asshole from the get-go. (7) #posers

My heavy-handed advice? Talk to everyone you can at the venue. Especially the youngins. Making them feel welcome in the scene, regardless of what it is, will help it grow and will inject some new blood that is much needed. (6) #posers

And the fact that we have grown ass adults still worried about this in their forties and beyond, just shows their maturity level. If you are the elder in a scene that is not what it used to be, it is your job to usher in the next generation. (4) #posers

Metal fans love to talk about how the scene isn't what it used to be, well that might be because you decided to bully everybody out of it who was just getting into it. You literally made it unpalatable for them with your attitude. (2) #posers

Being worried about posers, in any scene, in this day and age, is pathetic and childish. All fandom of anything has to start somewhere, and by calling somebody a poser , or making them feel unwelcome, does more harm than good. (1) #posers
