That period of the day where you get to be blissfully unaware of Chelsea's next bit of transfer nonsense >>>>

The first, and most probably last, club to ever win the Conference League and the Club World Cup in the same season.

Thank you for changing my life

if I'm understanding it correctly (and I resent how much of the financial rules of football I've learnt against my will supporting this club these last few years), this is the list we need to reduce the net spend/value of for next season for UEFA, whilst adding Pedro, Gittens + any others?

Fair to say that final score was a lot more dramatic than I was expecting to wake up to last night. Nice one, Chelsea.

I keep forgetting to post here but just found out it's ten years to the day since the episode of GoT where Jon Snow died and this has shaken me to my core

100% winning record and no goals conceded without Maresca in the Chelsea dugout

When given the chance to protect his young player who is having the worst period of his career so far, Maresca opted for self-preservation instead.

Whatever this season brings, and whatever frustrations we have endured to date, we should all take a moment to reflect on and be grateful for the circumstances that have led to Willy Caballero being Chelsea manager in a Premier League fixture.

As Chelsea get more accustomed to Enzo Maresca's preferred style... they get worse.

The decision to replace Ocon with Doohan at Alpine continues to age like milk to the shock of only Flavio Briatore.

Very entertaining opening round of The Cars

One rookie out on the formation lap; one out on lap one. Great start

Locked in for The Cars this morning. Let's go, Lewis.

Based on The Athletic's reporting: it's Caicedo/Essugo, Lavia/Santos, so I wonder what happens to midfielder number 3? One of Palmer or Enzo to leave, or both of them to stay because Lavia's muscles are made of tissue paper?
🚨 Chelsea have agreed an £18.5m fee for Sporting midfielder Dario Essugo, who is on-loan at Las Palmas. No add-ons or sell-on. Seven-year contract with option of a further year.

#CFC have been watching Essugo's development for 18 months. Viewed as a ball winner with fighting qualities.

I have to keep reminding myself that Chelsea's form at home since early September has actually been really good this year, and I've been there to see a lot of wins. Each win has somehow felt less and less inspiring rather than any sort of gathering momentum.

Chelsea have spent €670m on attacking players since the new ownership took over in 2022 and yet their front line is a complete mess.

This week's newsletter on why the Stamford Bridge club's "bold" transfer strategy doesn't seem to be adding up to much:

Dunk and van Hecke have the look and vibe of two incompetent henchmen whose incompetence keeps foiling the plans of the villain they work for.

Increasingly fascinated/bewildered by Chelsea's approach to selling unwanted players. Some are completely banished (e.g. Chilwell, Chalobah last summer), given a price-tag that far exceeds their on-field performance or importance (e.g. Nkunku for £65m), or some combination of both (e.g. Carney)
