How do they not get the basics of negotiation? Even if “reform” is the goal (and that would be stupidly weak sauce if so), you don’t start there. You start with “burn it down and salt the ashes” and graciously accept massive reforms as your compromise.

My parents loved it, and we watched it whenever it came on tv. Dad and my uncles served in WWII, one in the Pacific theater, which gave it extra resonance for them.
