I'd be happy if they did nothing rather than vote for the Republican bill as they did in March.

Of special interest to me and @bretdevereaux.bsky.social, among others, history is middle of the pack — similar shares of Americans say humanity knows most/all of what there is to know about history, and that we know little or nothing.

How views of how much humanity knows about history break down:

So...how much does it cost to fly every general officer to one place? I mean, seems like a thing you wouldn't want to do if it was free, but it isn't.

As awful as things are right now, I think it's important to understand that there are more decent ppl than there are awful ppl. Don't let the awful ppl out of your sight don't stop calling them out but mostly don't let them think there's more of them than decent ppl.

A government ban on Hungary’s Pride parade backfired Saturday as over 100,000 people marched through Budapest, far more than usual

Cutting Medicaid means costs are shifted to providers. When patients lose coverage, they turn to ERs for care they can’t afford. Hospitals eat the cost, pass it on to insurers, and your premiums go up.

Medicaid cuts mean a worse health care system for EVERYONE.

Before the Senate votes on Trump’s Tax Scam, there will be a “vote-a-rama.” This is when senators can propose endless changes that their colleagues then need to vote on.

You probably have some creative ideas for amendments. Submit them now to help keep vote-a-rama going for as long as possible. 👇

I hope the leadership that is left can hold the line against internal and external political pressure that pushes for actions that create unacceptable risks.

I also hope everyone understands why the wildland fire community will not be able to meet expectations this year. 5/5

We'll exhaust resources sooner because there will be fewer of them. This will result in overextension of IMTs and little recovery time for folks between assignments. It will also influence decision-making as the lack of resources will force more indirect strategies. 4/

One way we make sense of the fire year is by the preparedness level scale. It would not surprise me at all if we end up shifting the PL numbers so that what would have been a PL4 in years past becomes a PL5 this year because of lack of personnel. 3/

So, the numbers are still fuzzy as to how many incident management teams-the folks who manage large and long lasting wildland fires-cannot be supported this year, but it seems we'll be down at least 5-6. I suspect when we get to PL4 and PL5, the number of actual staffed teams will dwindle more. 1/

Right? You nailed it. This isn’t just about low-income folks; it impacts parents, families, & young adults who fall through the cracks. Medicaid steps in when jobs or private insurance leave people hanging. Gutting it hurts way more than most realize. #SaveMedicaid

Right now, Republicans in Congress are trying to push through a bill that would put millions of Americans at risk of losing their health care.

They want to cut federal funding for Medicaid, take away tax credits that help more people afford coverage, and raise costs for working class families.
