Ty Sarra! I honestly love drawing masks and stuff lol, love the mystery they bring and the way the emotions can be drawn by something other than the face via the body language or clues in these sort of ambiguous drawings!

Yeah! When it comes to art there's no wrong way to do the process imo, pick the one that works best for ya and the one that's most comfortable. However tool experimentation is really good too! I'm just lazy and I'm like "I've got the sketch already let's just use it lol" Id give stabilizers a try!

Ty! My original process was more deeply rooted in traditional sketching which kinda stayed with me when I transitioned to digital! I found constant refinement much more soothing than pulling my hair getting the perfect line lol, I also love the life and flaws the lines have! I just embrace it lol

Similar to other comments definitely do feel it's up to the artist in what you would like to achieve! My personal taste has always been to use the same sketch throughout the entire process without stabilizers, just the raw overlapping contours and erasing where needed for perfectly imperfect lines!

Same lol, I sometimes need to draw on the few breaks I have and mostly on the weekends, good luck with creating more art Astralis, ty again!

Yeah! I've always been a big fan of how traditional water-colors can do all of these interesting things, I've always wanted to replicate them in a digital medium haha, I don't use a watercolor brush however I use a square-ish highlighter brush (on Krita) that I also use to create sketches as well!

Ty! Currently am striving to improve color work haha, natural sunlight is something I always want to incorporate for those warmer colors haha and same!

Tysm Raz! Not something I draw super often but am slowly drawing more of it since I quite enjoy it lol! This one was quite comforting for me!

Ty! Yeah this is like the discount version of figure/gesture studies but to take something that can have several layers to it like sketching figures and condense it in a way I can process it is how I can get started haha as that is usually the hardest part for me!

It's my personal highlight in every sketch lol, and ty Sarra!

This is not meant to be a guide or "this is how it should be" btw! This is just how I subconsciously breakdown and try to understand how to create the foundations of sketches for and characters and planning!

Tyy! Glad this helps!!
January 24, 2026 at 6:03 AM
Of course! I sometimes feel I overanalyze stuff haha but for me the thing that I will always keep in mind is the symmetry, balance, direction of motion when it comes to sketches haha! Glad this helps!

Thus I was like ah, now I've got it, I can increase the flow(at least what's what my brain thinks) and produce a more readable shape if I can have the legs in like a walking stance haha, and that's just something I randomly do on drawings, I just kinda sit on them until I can better see the forms
