I like how real this movie is. And how many of us (myself included) have been disconnected from our culture because we have to live in the city for a better life. We forget where our families come from or have no clue.

This movie reminded me of my own childhood. Yes, I spent summers on the rez like maybe a week or two. Looking back on it, I am grateful I got to spend time with family and my culture just a little bit.

I love how we see the disconnect and connection between the two kids. One is a city kid sent to spend the summer on the rez. And he gets to experience his disconnect with his culture.

Frybread Face and Me is a movie that is so wonderful that's heartfelt. It gives a reparation of Navajo culture. And I love that! ❤️

And using their fame to talk about issues their people face. My favorite quote that's said in this doc is, 'Be proud that you're Indian, but be careful who you tell'. That will always be true.

Rumble: Indians Who Rocked The Wolrd. A documentary I really liked, again I stumbled upon.

A music doc that talks about how Natives influenced different genres of music.

If you have any in your community and they're open to the public, I highly recommend going. Please bring your own chairs. All public seating is for the dancers, and yes, it's implied.

I feel at home when I visit these large gatherings. I remember being little and seeing them all the time and just being amazed. I loved the drums, the dancing, and how connected a community can be. It's something I miss dearly.

Okay, so this one is really special to me. Pow wows are really special to me. I remember watching them in awe. I love seeing the colorful feathers 🪶, the dancing, and story telling them to provide.

It's an easy read. Honestly, I love the quality of the book
The pages are so nice and the front is soft.

(I'm really weird about texture when it comes to physical books).

It's a book about how animals are symbols and have meaning. Good luck, bad luck, average luck, anything really.

Something about this book makes me feel connected to a spirtal side of something.
