Oh, I'm trying to pivot away from that because I love them too!! I want to at least give some encouragement because I learned the little creatures can be appreciated and enjoyed, no matter what you do in life c:

Am biologist. The jobs are in law, food testing, teaching, and agriculture (pesticide/genetic testing). The field involves killing lots of little guys in the name of research.
BUT! You can always photograph what's around you and figure out what they are/watch them as a hobby :)

Oh, that's so funny. But animals can have their feet burn and get cuts too!
It's not like human feet are particularly soft and fragile, it's just that wearing shoes saves a lot of hassle and worry. Though, I'm willing to simply bet the person had "other" reasons to be concerned about it.

If it helps, from a chronic lurker -- sometimes, I see you post a character like Cygnus or Orion in one of their forms, and I think, "oh! One of these guys! Good to see them."
