more than 20 years ago, iACT's founder started visiting refugee camps in eastern Chad, where Sudanese people who had fled genocide in Darfur were living. The group committing genocide over the last 23+ years is now being provided with weapons and finances by the United Arab Emirates (UAE), in the current war in Sudan. Since April 2023, this war has displaced 12.5 million people. 900,000 of them are now refugees in Chad, adding to the nearly 400,000 Sudanese refugees already living there prior to April 2023. Over 1.5 million people have fled to Egypt. Over 8.5 million are displaced within Sudan. The UAE is now sponsoring the Emirates NBA Cup, which is now in Quarterfinal stage of the tournament. Along with other organizations, groups, and individuals, iACT will be at the championship game on December 16, in the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
