They should absolutely give it to Obama again, just for lulz.

Basically the most likely outcome of the collapse of the Tory party is the conservative/right coalescing around Farage while the liberal/left remains fragmented. Not Ed Davey displacing both Farage and Badenoch to become a Major/Cameron-like PM in waiting, comforting(ish) a thought as that might be.

A significant part of that was due to Tory voters going to Reform or staying home, and tactical voting by Labour types. Plus Tory voters who want low taxes and high house prices but were disgusted by Brexit and Rwanda are now a depleted well. Not many Rory Stewarts left for the Lib Dems to pick up.

If the Lib Dems are in a position to replace the Tory party and scoop up the voters that they are losing, there is little evidence of it in the polls so far. And given where their activist and current voter base is, I don't think a center right niche is actually an easy one for them to move into.

That's why all those long haired dope smoking hippies were so keen to join the army.

If there is no credible centre right party, with a clear distinction from the far right, then the only way to keep the far right out of power is for the left (broadly defined) to win every election from now until the end of time. Which is... unlikely to happen.

From a quick Google the total value of all the fish landed in the UK is around a billion pounds a year, and there are around 200 UK companies with more than that in annual turnover. I suspect you could say the same about a lot of obscure sounding companies.

Saving grace is that this plan would involve her becoming prime minister, so it's not that different from me announcing my plan to sleep with Taylor Swift.

I assumed Eamonn Mullally must be really, really famous but it turns out that he's mostly known for... being Sarah Mullally's husband. Which makes this even weirder.
Search result describing Eamonn Mullally as a former head teacher who is married to Dame Sarah Mullally

BBC guidelines say the word "terrorist"should only be used with attribution, ie "police described it as a terrorist attack". They are rather controversial and other outlets have different guidelines, though the story at the top of the thread would pass the BBC ones. www.bbc.co.uk/newsstylegui...

Didn't he also say that his greatest regret was being born too late to have been on the beaches on D-Day?

Not sure whether he specified which end of the beach he would have wanted to be on.

That's a Gmail address, I don't think Elsevier had much to do with it.
