This blew my mind a little bit. Did not know about shell ext for duckdb, cant fathom how cool it is to integrate random tools into duckdb queries via arrow support

Never really enjoyed working with minio. Looks like nvidia has a higher performing alternative (also in go). Minio never supported erasure codes in open source or had good performance or kept objects accessible as files. Nvidia aistore seems to do all that better github.com/NVIDIA/aistore

Initial tests with the Early Access #java builds which include Compact Object Headers (available on SDKman now!) are showing 10% to 20% memory reduction! Just for enabling this feature! 🤯

Will run some more structured tests and then bundle it in a blog. This is awesome.

But sure... #java dead 🤣
Very nice: Compact Object Headers targeted as experimental feature to #Java 24! This should yield some nice reduction of the heap size Java apps need. Kudos to Roman Kennke and team!
