This probably doesn't need saying but do these fools who ban books understand that the books are all easily available at the local library and online? This is probably performative but it's meaningless to plug a hole in a dam when the water is going freely around both sides of the dam.

Just quit watching ABC & that will be the natural outcome. Ratings will fall, revenue will crater & all those people will be laid off. Virtually all media outlets in the US are on the corporate / billionaire gravy train. No matter how much they pretend otherwise, their decisions are driven by money.

Emerson was brilliant. We are on the planet to make the lives of the people around us better. And that is fundamentally what is wrong with American society at the moment. It's all about me me me. What's in it for me? I'm not going to do it unless there's something in it for me.

To be fair, to be honest, things have gotten worse or much worse. The number of guns per American has shot up by about 50%. And the normalizing of the slaughter of children in schools and people in public places, just marches on.

We have been in a terrible period for at least 10 years and it just seems to get worse. Trump and Covid and other things have brought the worst things out in people. Try not to take it personally and try to scrape the worst people off immediately.

I love bananas & buy them all the time but don't always get to eating them before they turn brown. When they approach the point of no return, I will freeze them & then chop them up into bite-sized bits & throw them in my yogurt etc. I honestly think that they taste better frozen. They're sweeter.

I am reluctant to watch a movie that doesn't get at least an 8 and even then I am disappointed some of the time.

Christmas movies are notoriously bad. Watching them & hoping for better outcomes is a definite fail. Why not use the available review sites to get a readout on a movie before you watch it? The one you just watched gets a 4.5 out of 10 on IMDb which is a dreadful score.

ABC & the rest of the billionaire / corporate owned media has not been worth following for decades. They are showing their true colors now but they have been quizzlings for a very long time. Their interests are utterly different than our interests & they will always come down on the side of theirs.

If their comments were sufficiently obnoxious, you need to report them to Bluesky and let them suspend or delete the account so other people aren't bothered by the poster.

It's up to you but I wouldn't waste time hiding comments. Just block the person and the comment disappears and you never hear from them again. They are not aware that you have blocked them, they just can't see your posts and comment on them going forward.

Millions of people are hungry, homeless and mentally ill without treatment, in the richest country on the planet. And what do Americans do? They reelect the most incompetent person to have ever held public office in the US. The situation will get dramatically worse over the next 4 years.

The justice system isn't Democratic or Republican. It's just a justice system. The problem is the failure of citizens like yourself to insist on a better system for handling people who are not doing well in society. A failure to not elect people who will solve the problems.

You'll live to be 110. The latest studies on coffee are very positive about its ability to keep people sharp mentally way into their old age. A bike is great low impact exercise which will also take you well into old age.
