Lesson learned: the “calculating” step of macOS’s Migration Assistant is actually NOT skippable, even though the wizard totally lets you.
If you do though, there’s about an 80% chance your transfer will hang forever and eventually just fail.
Don’t waste a whole day like me. Let it calculate.

Does the new Spotlight on Tahoe get better if you force yourself to struggle through it? Cause it's kinda terrible currently, even in the public beta.

Still so crazy to me that Apple Silicon Macs use .ipsw files like iOS devices do now.
I know that they said iOS was a fork of OS X back in the day but never thought it would swing back the other way

iOS 18.2 has been the strangest rollout in quite a while. Two RCs, then a release less than a week later, and a silent second public release with the tiniest build number bump.
