Agree, but I think that train left the station with Citizens United, and certainly with anything that went through the shadow docket during the last year.

Democrats applying a purity test to other Democrats is exactly the sort of circular firing squad that explains, in part, why we are where we are. Perez is no AOC, but she's also not MTG. More to the point, she's not MAGA Joe Kent, which was the actual choice that voters in her district faced.

This interview was sadly superficial. Where it might have gotten interesting--the claim that the right to an abortion was a "created" right, subsequently decided as erroneous--would have been a good point to discuss the fatuousness of "originalism" as practiced by today's activist SCOTUS.

Not to mention John Culver, who Grassley beat in 1980. I met Grassley during that race and, as a high-school student, thought he was a deeply stupid man.

New school dumb, Senate edition. Old school dumb we have Grassley. House edition we have Boebert (et al).

Dear Mr. Martin:

Attached is a letter we received on February 17, 2025. I feel you should be aware that some asshole is signing your name to stupid letters.

The Rs may trot out the nuclear option and use it to kill the filibuster. What is to stop Maga from applying the discipline they've achieved with the nominations to the budget vote? If they have installed a permanent majority, they fear no retribution from the next Dem majority. There won't be one.

Hand-wringing from Democratic leaders is starting to sound like the Democratic version of Thoughts-and-Prayers.

What is the plan?

In his public life he seemed to believe in decency and intellectual rigor in equal measure. What luck to have such a mentor.

My small company ran with a self-insured plan when it was available some 15 years ago or thereabouts. We saved enough money to cover 100% instead of 80% of employee premiums the next year.

This left money in our hands instead of the insurer, so they ended offering such plans to small biz.

I read "this nomination" as "this abomination," but I think I'll leave it.

Click bait unless you'd be so kind as to provide context. I'm interested and took the moment to pay attention. Your turn.
