I like playing with yarn and drinking beer. I hate water with a minigun as a hobby. Sometimes a guy with crazy hair tells me what to do and I don't do it because I'm busy with the aforementioned.
More and more, I realize that not only is the idea of karma wrong, it's actually reversed. Good things happen to bad people. All of the worst people have all the best everything and nothing bad ever happens to them.

I was watching the local news because they recorded a bunch of local groups playing christmas songs and my niece was in one of them, school choir, that kinda thing. Before she came on, they had some kind of local vocal group singing maybe the worst original christmas song I've ever heard.

I went to a church today because my niece was in the local Christmas pageant. Haven't been inside any church for a long damn time, and even benign as the service was, all I could hear was a group of people talking about themselves like they were depraved irredeemable monsters. It made me sad.

It disturbs me how often I get a report of a user's folders in outlook having disappeared when, in fact, they're just collapsed. Like, click the little arrow. They're right there.

My health insurance is actually pretty good for an american, but it's impossible to get an appointment, even with my primary care physician, without a two month wait. Inevitably, almost any issue I have will resolve itself in that time. That or it will be too late. What even is the point.

So wait, I just realized something. Did Trump try to do his dumb Trump phone because they had that program to get a cheap (or was it free?) cell phone when Obama was president? Did we call it Obamaphone back then? Did anyone do a parody version of Bananaphone? I don't know, my brain is full of fuck.

I wish I could make people understand that we don't ban the use of space heaters to be dicks. In a best case scenario, you're kicking a breaker. In a worst case scenario, you're burning the building down, which is especially likely when plugging it into a fucking power strip, which they always do.

I'm playing Hollow Knight so that I can play Silksong. I was fully expecting dreamers to be super hard boss fights. I was really surprised when I just walked up to my first one and whacked them a few times and it was over. Shout out to my niece for showing me a trick to beat Watcher Knights.

My job has a series of 'screensavers' that run on all the computers. The images all use the same format with the same slogan in the same font in the same place. It's getting burned into our monitors. It's not a screensaver. It's a screen ruiner. They forgot the entire purpose of a screensaver.

It feels like the capitalists of the world are upset that we all got the first decent vacation of our lives during covid and realized how unsustainable this is. Now, we must be punished and brought to heel to try to make us forget that things could be way better so they don't lose like 12 dollars.

I maintain that people tend to use forks far too often when a spoon would work better. I see people eat rice dishes with forks so often. Baffling. It just all falls through the tines.

I'm really impressed with Steam streaming. I don't know if I'd want to try it over the internet, particularly with my whopping 10 megabit upload speed rural broadband, but within my home network where everything moves at gigabit speeds, it's smooth as butter.

Just played FFXIV's latest update. Not gonna lie. Weak. It all just feels very contrived...like they try to have a big heroic moment, but the story hasn't really done the work to earn it so it feels like a bad Saturday morning cartoon with a forced lesson at the end. It all just feels empty.

The job site I used just had me fill out a survey on what systems I work with. We use IGEL for thin clients where I work which is a fork of Ubuntu, which is a fork of Debian. Ultimately, I ticked both of those because IGEL wasn't an option on the survey.

After being forced to install Linux due to Windows 11 hating my old computer, I finally found a way to put the damned Ubuntu taskbar on the bottom of the screen instead of the side. You have no idea what a relief that is.

How do I immediately retrieve relevant information from my brain regarding various tech problems at work, but then get home and forget what I'm doing WHILE I'M DOING IT!

I spent most of my weekend trying to get Linux working on this 12 or so year old computer that has a Legacy BIOS. It turns out that the motherboard I have on this thing is just incompatible with any version of Linux. I'm literally using my old cell phone as a wifi card with usb tethering right now.

I take some time off. People say it will help me recharge. Instead it just makes my despair even deeper when I go back to work because I'm reminded of what I'm missing. Hope is the enemy.

When I was a 20-something, among my friends, screwing around with dual booting linux felt like a universal experience. We had all done it at some point and realized that it really wasn't all that hard. I'm realizing now, working in IT, that it is far from universal.

There is something very strange about seeing video clips being posted of people on twitch watching clips of other people on twitch. It's even stranger when all involved are political commentators of some sort and they're basically just looking for petty gotcha points to make each other look bad.

Even I, a straight, regularly horny, dude, am becoming fatigued by the blatant and constant fanservice in every god damned anime and anime themed video game. Just stop already, it's not even sexy anymore, it's just boring and gross. Most of those characters are teenagers, ya fuckin sickos.
