Honestly, might be the best thing for the military leaders. In person they get to *feel* how insecure and weak secdef is. They see and hear potus rambling and saying unethical and illegal things out loud, directed at them.

Good bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure actually makes things *easier* for cars.

If the infrastructure is there, more people will ride bikes or walk, that's fewer cars on the road, which means less traffic.

There are environmental benefits too, but motorists care more about traffic.

It's a very black-and-white type of ideology. Like you mention, the complexity of nuance and context is too much for them. Some of them no doubt feel stupid for not being able to make sense of things with more than one facet and that anger at feeling stupid drives some of their behavior.

Oh interesting. I have found the opposite to be true for me. If I'm on a treadmill, my mind stays active because there isn't anything else to do. And when I run outside, I feel my mind slowly disengage. It's especially true if I'm trail running vs running in my neighborhood

I'm always alarmed at how quickly this administration reached for military actions as solutions to it's perceived problems.

Using the military should really be a last resort, after all diplomatic attempts have failed AND the situation warrants that kind of forceful action.
