Maybe the police showed a different version depending on the local tracks..but in all 3 it's the same final scene. I reckon urban myths resulted in people speculating there's a darker ending to one of the versions

Just looked it up on Wikipedia (trainspotters being transporters have obviously documented the type of trains that hit Robbie in the various versions) and yeah there were three versions for different types of train lines...

Ah the Keith chegwin one and there was an alternate ending or something even more gruesome than the one widely shown one?

Im thinking hill valley. If I was writing it I'd chuck in a plot where the villain goes back in time, meddles with the planet's history and we see a darker alternative variation of the world etc. this could be towards the end of the story.

Funnily enough crocodile Dundee was pretty much the only thing we watched that year as it was the year I got a commodore Amiga 500

Most watched programme that year. Amusingly the most watched show the following year was a standard episode of neighbours. I don't even think it was a particularly dramatic one!

Agreed, I need to get that book just for the grange hill content alone! That's the first time I've heard that they planned to kill off Justin and it makes total sense.

Wow, great episode, I need to get that book. Agree totally re the way Antoni's death and the common incidents are dealt with in grange hill..the latter almost felt like a mini school safety film featuring tucker inserted into an episode.

Just watched it. We'll be alright as long as there are guys like them still around making stuff.
December 16, 2025 at 11:55 PM

I had no idea it got to issue 2...I remember speculating it would be a one off

Just listened, my theory is they were going to do a storyline where Mrs Pearson didn't like Matthew's girlfriend but when Paul parris decided to quit after a few episodes the following series it was ditched.
