I don't think he's written yet on Trump 2.0 in this respect (could be wrong), but I'd highly recommend @jordantcamp.bsky.social More classically, Ruth Wilson Gilmore will still help understand better the current situation

Haha, what?! Did they make jokes about grindcore songs being the equivalent of one-day internationals? Almost every year I supervise a diss project (UG or MA) on the myth of social mobility especially in relation to education - the student is always an angry, alienated northerner

I didn't think about it at the time, but my main friends at Leeds in the late 90s (when it was more fashionable: M/cr now being where southern students go for the Grand Tour), were from Mansfield (links to mining), Pontefract (strong links to mining), and inner city Newcastle. No surprise, really!
