Apologies to all the Gazans requesting help. I’m doing what I can in helping five families when I can, but I cannot possibly help everyone. Having to choose who to support after checking the legitimacy as genuine Gazans in real need, is torture. It’s nothing compared with their lot however. 🇵🇸🍉🇵🇸🍉

I hope the cats are being sympathetic. Possibly not if ours are anything to go by! 😬

Hope he turns up soon. It’s horrible when they disappear beyond the usual time periods. 😬☹️

When a typo in your Google search leads to new and exciting philosophical positions
AI Overview: "Dental realism"refers to the philosophical debate about whether teeth exist independently of human perception, a concept rooted in metaphysical realism. While realism asserts an objective reality for teeth, idealist philosophies contend that teeth's existence is tied to our consciousness and perception. Philosophers use this idea, for example, to discuss the ethics of tooth extraction, examining whether a procedure impacts a real entity or merely a subjective experience.

I think that the centre has been dragged so far to the right that what was once the centre now looks like the left in extreme. It isn’t, but that’s the perception of many. The current centre is just not a comfortable place for me. ☹️

Plucking the extraordinary from the mundane. Easily one of your best of this type.

“A constant carousel of scapegoats…” is such a surgically wonderful phrase.

1/2 I’ve been chatting to Yasmein today. She is stuck in northern Gaza with her family and cannot afford the exorbitant fees necessary to move further south as demanded by the IDF. Meanwhile, the city is being flattened around her. Please help out of you can. Fight evil with hope.

We are visiting and touring around NSW in early November and I need to scope out Aussie politics before then to get some understanding. Your comment is a good start!

The Labour Party which enabled me, born in a back to back Halifax terrace, later cleared as slums, to get to University – on a full grant – and chart a decent path through life, has evaporated. A hard-nosed corporate funded lobby pleaser has taken its place.

A day of sunshine and rain showers. Polly is happy to just laze on the sofa.
#Sighthound #Podenco #HairyPodenco
Polly the hairy Podenco, outstretched on a sofa, her head partly resting on cushions and partly on an arm rest. Her front paws protruded over the arm rest. Polly has eyes almost closed, a white nose along with most of her face, and brown and tan shades on the rear of her head and to her body.

It is. The MAGA movement and the Reform Party here in the UK rely on significant emotional investment from supporters – deliberately fostered – and circumventing this is incredibly difficult. Reason is way down the list, basic emotion is top. Some hurdle.

Soap Opera involving rich and slightly influential toffs. Unfortunately, it gets lapped up. It isn’t serious journalism – it’s a distractive confection of endless nothingburgers.

We seem to have ended up with the likes of Tommy Robinson and Andrew Tate. Intellect, knowledge and understanding are the enemy now.

League tables are no substitute for funding, good training and staff-driven professionalism.

My grandad served as engineer aboard air sea rescue launches in WWII, helping pluck many downed aircrew, including Luftwaffe, from the seas around our coast. Really not sure he’d have rescued anyone from Reform.

Ah, but you’ve given yourself that quick option should it be necessary – I was admiring your preparedness! 😁

The ability to abandon a household chore and just fling yourself into bed is not to be underestimated. Being prepared is vital. 😊

It should be as obvious as the sweat on a Reform voter at a spelling bee that logic cannot counter the Farage narrative. You are absolutely right that an emotional response is required to counter the manufactured fear, uncertainty and doubt.
