Southampton Arms is a cracker, but Nick the old Landlord opened his own place, The Robin. He’s kept the same feel, but actually improved it in every way. Meanwhile the Southampton Arms isn’t quite as good is it used to be.

My first try was when it won Champion Beer of Britain. Which after checking I find was 2007. I wasn’t young then!! Still a gorgeous pint.

I think indifference is true. I don’t think he sets out to harm. I just believe he is totally comfortable with doing so. More sociopath than psychopath.

It's a victim of its own success. It's a staple at pubs that don't care, which means it's often kept poorly. In a pub that does care it's still very drinkable, but very few self=respected pubs in London serve it any more. It's generally the shit ones.

Lovely selection that would please any beer drinker. Great to see old faves like Prince of Denmark and Tally Ho! make the list. My wife would nab the Broken Dream before I got a look in though.

The reason it worked in RSA was because support was broad and national. The direct aim is to inflict pain on Israel. It’s having little impact in that respect. RSA had far less establishment support than Israel.

As a previous frequent visitor to Amsterdam, I really don't miss them. New Season Herring however....
