It's the phrase "call it out" which reveals this was a speech for and by people on bluesky

"Why do I see the Tories, the party most implicated in our predicament, as possible salvation?". Headline dunking is pointless (except to gaine agreeable replies and likes etc). The underlying argument is a good one, main parties encouraged statist expansion and Reform same.

Good column from Matthew Syed on how the basis of our whole economic debate has moved to the left over the last 20 years without anyone noticing

Ah thank you, I will fix. How is it measured now?

‘This much effort’ lol - Heather you engaged me, not vice versa! I’ve just been replying to you. Politely I hope.

‘Of course’ - ok if it’s so obvious now, how and why has that actually happened? Same with hospitals and sport, both still live issues. Nobody sensible denies trans women’s ‘right to exist’; the questions are over when and when biological sex takes primacy over gender identity.

Wow you guys are very interested in loos! Should male rapists be in female prisons? Should males be in female hospital wards? Should they compete in elite female sports competitions? To most people the answer is pretty clearly no and for reasons nothing to do with fear or dislike of trans people.
ianleslie.bsky.social
Sorry - I realise I'm repeating myself but you pretty much ignored what I said!
ianleslie.bsky.social
But that's not my approach. I'm not demonising anyone. According to every poll on this issue, most women don't want males, however they identify, in spaces where women are most vulnerable, like prisons and hospitals. That has nothing to do with fear or dislike of trans people.
ianleslie.bsky.social
Yes I do but conversely you ought to acknowledge that ordinary women might not want males, however they identify, in spaces where they are most vulnerable, including prisons and hospitals. That's why we have sex segregation in the first place. It's nothing to do with fear or dislike of trans people.

Wow I do a couple of tweets & get accused of a hobby! 😂 This isn't about disliking or trying to make anyone's life harder. There are sound arguments, rooted in liberalism, against self-ID, males in women's prisons, women's sports, etc. Abusing those who make them is wrong and counter-productive.
ianleslie.bsky.social
Calm down, I just replied to a couple of tweets - not sure that makes me the weirdo here!
ianleslie.bsky.social
I don't think abusing people, telling them to shut up has worked out well for your side of this debate. I'd strongly advise against it from a purely strategic point of view.
ianleslie.bsky.social
Sounds like they already have
ianleslie.bsky.social
Well it worked for trans activists
