We have taco vendors in trucks that are licensed and inspected like regular restaurants. And we have taco vendors that are setting up folding tables under tents. One of is clearly safer than the other. There's demand for the table guys, so we should make it easier for them to get up to code.

I dunno. I'm sure the food licensing procedure in Seattle is excessive, but I still think people preparing food should have easy access to a sink and wash their hands regularly. I'm ok with that being a law that gets enforced.

wikipedia says there are 135 million homes in the US. So kicking out all the undocumented home owners would free up 1.2% of the housing stock. I don't think that's going to solve the housing crisis

It is wild to think how if your house got robbed in the 90s it was almost a certainty that they would take your tv and vcr. Because those items could be sold at a pawn shop for a significant amount of money.

Wow, the "igon value" article was all the way back in 2002.

"I will call this the Igon Value Problem: when a writer's education on a topic consists in interviewing an expert, he is apt to offer generalizations that are banal, obtuse or flat wrong."--Pinker via Wikipedia
