I know from first hand experience that ‘hi fidelity’ was an excellent book & a classic film. But I never knew there was a soundtrack as well. Although it makes perfect sense. Of course they put together a list !

Exactly! Being PM is a 5 year gig. You do all the unpopular stuff in the first few years or so and hope people feel/see benefits by the end of the term. Politics is supposed to be dull, real politicians are not entertainers.

Like the Republican Party, the Conservatives have been gutted by psycho billionaires. Johnson & Trump took power & immediately evicted all centrists, as their financiers insisted. There is no room for moderation in the new disaster capitalism system they are hurtling us all towards.
