It was an interesting challenge visually arranging the fallen boughs superimposed and parallel, next to the stronger living one. The lower winter light allowed a sense of depth that I couldn't find and repeat when I returned a few days later.
Sharpenhoe is best known for its tall Beech tree’s, in contrast this twisted Hawthorne sat on the edge of the chalk ridge.
