It seems BlueSky is attempting to start collecting personal data for policing purposes now. I’m Not very active here anyways, but will be less so in the future. Follow me on Mastodon or my blog if you’d like to stay up to date.

Rust has some pretty baller tooling crates 😀 Generated this railroad syntax diagram for a mustache derived template DSL using github.com/nu11ptr/pest... in just a few seconds 🤯

Finally found some ski buddies here and had an amazing (but long!) day on the slopes yesterday :) Guess I can also say I've skied an Olympic venue now haha.

Exhibit of the day in fallacies programmers believe about languages 😅

(The reason is most likely that, since Hangul is encoded as 3-byte sequences in UTF-8, this shows up as 3 edits at the byte level. The distance should really be 1.)

Foursquare OS Places just dropped for December! Here's a density visualization for places (with some filtering to remove stale/inactive/uninteresting ones).

43mm records crunched using DuckDB in 10.6 seconds. Probably coming soon to a geocoder near you ;)
