There’s enough wrongdoing going on that we don’t need to start stretching like this to find it. Particularly things with relatively obvious explanations like “DOJ does not typically do formal press releases on the weekend but does do them on Fridays” to explain a wrong date on a draft.

As someone who has often reused the last template I did for for a task rather than starting anew, I could see the one on the left just being a draft on Saturday using the last press release they did during the workweek on Friday as a template and forgetting to change the date.

that email is a request for clear and explicit guidance for whatever they were doing back in March 2015. Not whatever they have been doing for the last three months for these public releases.

We’re confusing 2 things, which is OP’s fault. He made it sound like FBi in THAT EMAIL says Bondi gave clear and explicit directions to redact certain names IN THESE PRODUCTIONS. She probably did, since another version of that email with the list was produced redacted to congress this week. But…

This post is really misleading. I don’t doubt they are in fact redacting things they are not allowed to redact for reasons that are bad, but this is not evidence of anything other than a request for guidance from people doing doc review.

I would advise that when someone says different things close in time to each other and without pointing to legislative language, that they tend to be bullshitting to get through a news cycle.

He said it both before the letter at the press conference and again today on MS Now. Point being that his letter doesn’t deserve more weight than his statements, and neither are worth a nickel unless and until there is legislative text.
