Customer service over the phone wasn't terribly helpful.
We resolved what I believe was the issue within a day or two.
Bigger question: what is making unauthorized database updates to our records -- i.e., removing the ZIP Code?
How can we be sure our data is safe?

Customer service over the phone wasn't terribly helpful.
We resolved what I believe was the issue within a day or two.
Bigger question: what is making unauthorized database updates to our records -- i.e., removing the ZIP Code?
How can we be sure our data is safe?

Turns out that, despite having no issues with credit cards or deliveries for years, something had blanked our ZIP Code from the account information. It wasn't us.
I can see how processing a card wouldn't work with ZIP-confirmation missing. But how did this happen?

At least have the dignity to name your new, fake religion. We've failed at such an obvious standard with Hobby Lobby, etc.
