Oregon National Guard Adjutant General, General Gronewold says if they are federalized, that he will advise the Title 10 commander to utilize National Guard Troops to PROTECT protesters at ICE facilities. This is the right answer.

I was bemoaning the lack of youthful energy last night, where has all that energy gone where I could enjoy and participate in a Wigan weekender…

I was politely reminded that those weekends where chemically supported

So here’s to the future, tucked in the eyes of our grandchildren.
May they carry what we built, fix what we broke, and never lose the music in their souls.

Good morning, my friends.
Drink your coffee slow. Watch the light.
The world’s in good hands — even if they’re smaller than ours once were. 🌅☕💙

And with that, the laughter comes easy again — gentle, grateful, proud. We’ve seen the tide turn a thousand times and somehow still believe in the next wave.

We can only hope they remember the lessons we left hidden in the stories we told and the love we gave.

The sun creeps higher now, warm and golden, lighting up the tired faces around the table. Someone chuckles. “Guess the world’s always been in someone’s hands. We just took our turn.”

And there’s the truth of it — we’ve already done our part. We gave them roots, even if they’ve grown wings. The world ahead isn’t ours to steer anymore — it’s theirs to fly, crash, rebuild, and soar again.

One of the fellas sighs. “Think they’ll be alright?”
Another smiles, slow and sure. “They’ll do fine. We raised the ones who raised them.”

We talk about our grandkids — bright eyes, faster thumbs, louder worlds. They live in screens and algorithms, in voices that talk back from smart speakers, in cars that park themselves. They dream of Mars and write code instead of cursive.

The baton’s already been passed, quietly, like an old photograph handed to a grandchild who doesn’t quite understand yet how much it means.

We all nod, staring into our cups like they might offer answers. Because somewhere between the prom songs and the PTA meetings, between chasing dreams and paying bills, we became the past.

We sit around the table, our old reunion badges askew, eyes heavy but hearts wide open. Someone mutters, “You know, we used to be the future.” That line hangs in the air like smoke — slow, true, and impossible to ignore.

The hall’s quiet now. Balloons sag, the dance floor’s empty, and the echoes of laughter have drifted off with the dawn. A few of us are still here — the lifers, the ones who can’t quite let go of a good thing. We’ve traded whiskey for coffee and music for the soft hiss of the morning pot brewing.

Thinking about the world to come, my thoughts!
